Appliance Repair in Boise Idaho
The Appliance Repair business in Boise Idaho is becoming one of the most competitive service industries ever - due to the fact that ANYONE can call themselves an expert with no oversight or licensing.
Here is a little background on the appliance repair business. Most appliance repair businesses perform repair and services on washing machines, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves, cooktops, refrigerators, trash compactors, and more. There are many different brands - Maytag, Kenmore, GE, Whirlpool, Kenmore, Amana, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Roper, Caloric, Magic Chef, and many more.
The know-how or experience necessary to perform repairs on these appliances is huge. There are literally thousands of designs and ways of gaining access to major and electronic components - circuit boards, transducers, thermostats, etc. - So the more experience a technician or engineer has obtained the better, quicker, and safer the repair becomes. Here lies a problem for the consumer. How can a consumer in Boise Idaho, in need of appliance repair, contact an experienced and well regarded company ?
The first step a consumer should make is to read reviews online. Review them carefully and note any indications in the wordings that would make them suspect - like excessive keywords phrases. Second, if you have neighbors who've had appliance repair service, see if they can give you a recommendation. Third, check the better business bureau for any companies you should watch out for. Remember, do your homework and research before calling an appliance repair company and you can avoid some common pitfalls, huge bill, techs that "don't know what they're doing", leaving appliance in dis-assembled state ( abandonment).

- GE Appliance Repair
Hi Folks, Whew, what a day. Ran into a GE refrigerator today that wasn't working properly. It was a bottom mount, meaning that the freezer is located in the bottom and the refrigerator on the top. These appliance work very well but like everything, then need a little maintenance now and then. Check out this control board mess! It looks kinda intimidating for the layman. Actually, working with electronics day in and day out, it's not so intimidating with me anymore. In this day and age, electronic appliances are the norm. Anyway, here at Western Appliance Repair, we fix this type of things and even more. Here we go, does this not look like a bunch of spaghetti? :->
- New Major Appliance Factory Repair Service?
Will Whirlpool open a factory repair service in Idaho? I’ve thought of this question today after talking to one of my LG/Samsung friends out of state, in California in particular. I was told that they were hiring about 50 appliance repair techs to take over factory warranty repair from independent appliance repair services. It stands to reason that some independent repair services will be cut out of the Whirlpool Warranty work. What make sense here is that since independents now service the majority of Whirlpool product warranties so it stands to reason that if Whirlpool has indeed gotten into the Repair Service business, that business has to be taken from somewhere, and it has to be from the independent companies. Not to mention A&E who is performing a large part of the warranty coverage. What this means to me, or how it sounds, it if this is true, and I have no reason to believe its not, is that some independents will find themselves without warranty work at all. If an independent appliance company had most, or too much of their market share in warranty vs out-of-warranty work, some businesses may have to close. Maybe, just a guess. What do I think of being a authorized warranty repair service for Whirlpool? I can tell you this - I believe Whirlpool is a great company with great products. As a matter of fact, I own ALL whirlpool appliances and I wouldn’t buy any other. Their quality is second to none, in my humble opinion. However, I choose NOT pursue to be warranty authorized because the profit margins are not there. I don’t fault them for this. The free market determines the payout for authorized repair services. If someone is willing to be warranty authorized and would like to drive 40 minutes, take apart a dishwasher, find the problem, sit in truck on phone with factory to request cost approval, order the part,, receive the part, do another service call the install the appliance part, the bill for your service and hope you don’t get referred to quality audit, the by all means, they should do this. A minimal payout cannot keep many in the appliance repair business unless the call volume is high. I don’t mean to say that this is what happens with Whirlpool, but it does happen with other warranty companies. I hope you can see my points. I have to wonder however, if this will be a profitable endeavor if indeed the rumor is true. GE repair service was available at a previous time and also Maytag. If you look for Maytag and GE repair service now, in the Boise, Meridian, Eagle, and Kuna areas of Idaho, you will find all independent servicers and no factory service. I know Maytag and GE had to of gotten out of the business for some reason, and most reasons are economics. It is hard to make a profit and stay in business in this day and age. I would really term this economic atmosphere today has hostile. So, we will see if Whirlpool has a magic system or has some special successful business model that GE and Maytag did not. There’s a lot of information that I don’t know on this subject and if this is really true. Time will tell. Whirlpool Factory Service in LA and Orange counties, Ca. What do you think? Washer and Washing Machine History Washing machines developed to reduce the hardship of the hand-washing process by using a sealed tub with paddles or fingers to agitate the clothing. The first machines were hand-operated. Electricity was not available to every household until around 1930. Water often had to be toted, heated on a fire for washing, and then poured into the tub. This warm soapy water was precious and would be reused again, first to wash the least soiled clothing, then to wash dirtier laundry. The earliest machine tubs were made from wood, later machines that were made of metal allowed a fire to burn below the washtub.
